Video: Paraglider falls into Uttarakhand’s Tehri Lake during training, rescued

A video of a man falling into Uttarakhand’s Tehri Lake during a paragliding training program organised by the state tourism department has gone viral on social media.
The incident occurred near Koti Colony, where a 26-year-old trainee named Rishi lost control during the landing and fell into the water.
However, Rishi, a resident of Nanital, narrowly escaped the fatal disaster as a State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), stationed at the site, quickly responded and rescued him.

The 41-second video shows Rishi spinning out of control before falling into the lake, followed by a speedboat arriving to rescue him. The SDRF team reached Rishi, as he was about to drown, pulled him onto the boat and brought him to the shore safely.
The entire incident was captured on camera by locals, who had gathered near the lake to watch the paragliders’ training event.
